Border Security Force(BSF) has published recruitment notification 2016. Invited applications from the eligible candidates for filling up the recruitment of 373 ASI & Head Constable in BSF. Mode of Selection :
Selection will be conducted in 2 phases. ‘Phase-I’ will consist of OMR based Screening Test & Descriptive Written Test and ‘Phase-II’ will consist of (i) Physical Standard Test (PST), (ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET), (iii) Document Verification, (iv) Dictation Test & (v) Medical Examination. The OMR based Test will be held on 25th September. The OMR Based Test of 2 hours duration will consist of multiple choice objective type questions based on the following 4 papers : (i) Physics, (ii) Mathematics, (iii) Chemistry (the questions of these 3 papers will be of 12th standard) and (iv) English & General Knowledge (including History, Geography, General Science & Current Affairs). Each subject will carry 50 marks & each question will carry 2 marks. Candidates should have to secure at least 38% (33% for SC / ST) marks in aggregate to qualify in the Written Test. The merit list of the successful candidates of the Written Test will be available on the website mentioned below. Qualified candidates in the OMR based Test will be called for Descriptive Type Written Test to be held on 18th December. For the post of ‘Assistant Sub-Inspector’, the Descriptive Test carrying 200 marks will consist of questions from the following subjects : (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry, (iii) Mathematics & (iv) Electronics. For the post of ‘Head Constable’, the Descriptive Test carrying 100 marks will consist of questions from the following subjects : (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry & (iii) English. Candidates will also have to appear for an additional Dictation Test carrying 100 marks. Qualified candidates will be called for Physical Standard Test (PST), to be conducted as per the above mentioned physical parameter. Qualified candidates in PST will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET), consisting of the following events — (1) for male candidates : (i) 1.6 kms race to be completed within 6.50 minutes, (ii) 3.65 metres long jump to be completed within 3 chances, (iii) 1.2 metres high jump to be completed within 3 chances. (2) for female candidates : (i) 800 metres race to be completed within 4 minutes, (ii) 9 feet long jump to be completed within 3 chances, (iii) 3 feet high jump to be completed within 3 chances. Ex-Servicemen will be exempted from appearing in PET. Qualified candidates in PET will be called for Documents Verification. Candidates should bring the following documents at the time of Document Verification : (1) 3 copies of self-attested passport size recent photographs, (3) 2 self-addressed envelopes of 25 × 12 cms size with Postage Stamp of Rs.27/- affixed on each, (4) Self-attested photostat copies of all Certificates & Mark Sheets in support of Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Discharge (for EXSM), (5) Self-attested photostat copy of Caste Certificate (for SC / ST / OBC) issued by the competent authority not below the rank of Tehsildar, (6) Self-attested photostat copy of Domicile Certificate issued by Sub-Divisional level Revenue officer or its equivalent, (7) Self-attested photostat copy of Certificate in support of claiming the relaxation in height / chest (as the case may be).
